”I danced wearing heavy black velvet costume in heat of 35°C besides a Miro sculpture in Barcelona. An elderly lady who saw the performance told me it was holy, while a young man thought I was inspired by science fiction comic strips.”
Virpi Pahkinen has a long history of renowned solo performance, but she also makes duo shows together with her long time dance partner Pontus Sundset Granat. The solo and duo works are not only limited to theatres but can be adjusted to different site-specific locations. The latest performances includes i.a. dancing in dialogue with the sculptures at Artipelag as well as improvisations together with live organ music in churches.
